Welcome to The AES 300.

Many wrestlers have come and gone in the Armbar Error Society, and many have made a mark that should never be forgotten by history. The AES 300 is a carefully selected group of 300 wrestlers, characters, and teams that deserve to be remembered and why. In here you will find hall of famers, main eventers, and legends, alongside those that made us laugh, cry, or jump out of our seats. From the best of the best to the worst of the worst, the AES 300 covers it all.

The AES 300 is split into several sections:

  • The First Generation - The pioneers of early AES, pre-AES, and Black Mountain Wrestling federation.
  • The Second Generation - Those who made their mark during AES's first "boom period".
  • The Third Generation - Those who came during AES's second boom period and are helping bring the community into the future.
  • Tag Teams & Stables - Those units that took wherever they landed by storm.
  • Extras - Managers, authority figures, referees, and more.

AES has over five years of history, and with this we hope to document it. Three hundred doesn't even begin to cover the varied and immense amount of characters we've had in Armbar Error Society, but it's a start.

1.1. Auguste Ashe: The Mastermind Reborn

"[Lance]...I can't wait to fire you." - Austin Ashe, Rise Of The Titans

Appearance
Also Known As: Saikyo Dinosaur, Asheland, Austin Ashe, Auguste
Notable eFeds: WCCW, MWAT, WFL, CNW

There will never be a character whose development truly embodies his gimmick quite like Auguste Ashe.

The masked wrestler Saikyo Dinosaur was a major WCCW fan-favorite, but his popularity didn't translate to success in the ring. At the same time, an arrogant wrestler named Asheland was making waves and rising up the card. Eventually, Saikyo Dinosaur, the perennial loser, had a match with the world champion - a match that he won. He then unmasked and revealed that he and Asheland were one and the same, and with the royalties gained from his Saikyo Dinosaur persona he had amassed wealth and power galore.

What makes this interesting is that Asheland wasn't just a character but an entire phantom user. For all intents and purposes, SaikyoDinosaur and Asheland were two different people, and people loved one and hated the other. It was a ruse unlike any other and one of the first pieces of major long-term character development during a time where eWrestling was very much about self-inserts going from match to match.

The newly-christened Austin Ashe had a world championship run, a run in MWAT, and broke into WFL with one of the company's first major storylines. During a World Championship tournament, Austin Ashe found himself haunted by a ghost from the past - Someone using the name and mask of his old persona, Saikyo Dinosaur. This "new" SaiDi tormented Ashe with reminders of his brother who was killed in a car accident and mindgames until it finally came out that this SaiDi was Duke Hagan who had suffered horrible burns in a car accident of his own that was implied to be Ashe's doing.

Ashe's emotionally-charged promos about his sordid family history were some of the first to truly explore the idea of a flawed, tormented villain, and their gritty atmosphere were unique standouts in early AES. From that feud, Austin Ashe became an unstoppable villain with an incredible theme song (link it here), partnering with Manfred Rickett and Firsty to take over WFL as General Manager.

After falling out with Rickett, Ashe fought for the company's honor at Odyssey and teamed up with Redneck Ninja for the WFL tag team tournament to form Alcohol Currency. After WFL folded, Ashe drifted into the sunset.

In an ironic twist, Ashe was involved in a car accident that cost him his memories, his personality, and his name. Now named Auguste, he returned to AES as a shock signing by CNW where he was determined to reevaluate his past actions and make a new name for himself.

When it comes to evolution, Ashe is a shining example of constantly setting the bar higher for himself as a character and all who interacted with him. Many AES characters can claim to be geniuses, but both in- and out-of-character there is only one Mastermind.

4. Tag Teams & Stables

Wrestling isn't just about singles action. Often, two or more wrestlers come together to form a cohesive whole that manages to take the place by storm. Whether they struck tag team gold, ran an entire company, or just put smiles on peoples' faces, stables and tag teams are an integral part of the Armbar Error Society experience.

4.1. Magnum Dick: Dick Bateman & Magnum MD

Magnum MD and Dick Bateman were the first WWA Tag Team Champions. This alone would be enough to get them on the list, but they're remembered less for what they won and more for who they beat. After defeating Omega BR and Maya Inca Boy to be crowned champs, Magnum Dick had no less than five matches with Ego Tripping Death Squad (Garth Wrestlegar Sr. and El Trippy Del Funky) and won every single match. It turned out that El Beardy recorded several matches between the two teams and the only one where ETDS won was corrupted. Rather than continue to tape or air one and move on, Beardy put every single match on various episodes of WWA, creating a one-sided rivalry that for better or for worse will go down in history. ETDS did finally get their win back in a sense when during their ProWres tag team championship reign, the new team of Brizen and Del Rudo called out and defeated Magnum Dick once and for all.

5. General Managers, NPCs, Officials, and More

They may not be wrestlers, but they are just as much a part of the excitement as anyone else. Commentators, referees, managers, general managers, and maybe even some of the friends and allies of AES's contracted talent all deserve recognition. Here we celebrate some of the most memorable extras in Armbar Error Society.

5.1. Thick Riley: A Manager With A Mean Streak

Riley Marcus Dunwich, better known as "Thick Riley", is a Pro Wrestling manager, best known for having managed both the first ever SAPW Grand Champion, Cthulhu Jr., and The Walkers Brothers in SAPW. His introduction to AES seemed innocent enough with the plucky heavyset southern manager acting as translator for fan favorite, Cthulhu Jr. At Cthulhu Jr's side, Thick Riley stood by his side as Cthulhu Jr. went up against opponents like Bucky Foxworthy and Daiki Kaito. Over time, Riley started to become more and more aggressive with Cthulhu Jr.'s training, slowly showing his true colors as a bad man who had ownership over Cthulhu Jr. and abused him to make sure he held the World Title.

After Cazz Jordann earned a shot at the SAPW Grand Championship, Thick Riley tried everything in his power to make sure the Tattoo shop owner would not walk away with the title. But, in the end, Cazz ended 2012 as SAPW Grand Champion, defeating Cthulhu Jr. in a 2/3 pinfalls match. After the match, Thick Riley tried attacking Cthulhu Jr., but Cthulhu Jr. fought back, eating his eye and running away from Thick Riley. Later on the next year, Thick Riley returned with a glass eye for a match against Cazz Jordann at Renaissance Night 1 in a landmine match, ending in Thick Riley stepping on a landmine and getting knocked out.

He survived, however, sporting an eye patch and offered his services in managing The Walkers Brothers. Under him, The Walkers managed to earn several shots at the SAPW tag team championships, but The Walkers put blame on Thick Riley for any assistance he gave the two only ended up backfiring for the two brothers, leading to them dropping Thick Riley as their manager. With that, Thick Riley disappeared from the world of AES. Only time will tell should Thick Riley ever return to AES.
